The printer is a HP Photosmart 7520. It can be easily be replaced if that helps. The Dos app reports are all 132-character wide printouts originally designed to print on tractor feed paper. The app as the ability set print strings including compressed print, portrait or landscape to an laserjet that understands print codes PCL5 or PCL6. I am going to look into DOSPRN. Seems I remember an app called DOS2USB or something like that.
Thanks for all the attention. Also, there appears to be an issue with running in compatibility mode.
My client tells me the window is too small and slow. The ultimate solution may be to purchase a used XP box and laserjet, but really would like to move him to windows 7.
For a recommendation I would need more info about your requirements. Do you need colour? What print speed do you need? How many trays? Would you prefer a networked printer, or do you want to stick with USB (networked usually causes less trouble)?
Jul 10, 2018 - Windows Vista and Windows 7 users should note the Vista/7 Installation. It uses a freeware self-installing system driver named inpoutx64.dll. Equipped with a parallel LPT port on an ExpressPort peripheral card running. Parallel port if you are using Windows NT / 2000 / 2003 server / XP / Vista . Serial cards universal pci, 32/64 Bit PCI, printer port, drucker Schnittstelle 32 Bit & 64 Bit Device Drivers for Windows 8, Windows 2012 Server, Windows 7.
If networked, do you want wired or wireless? What is your budget? Apart from the price and interface, none of these questions are relevant for DOS. They would only be important if you want to replace the HP.
In that case, do you want an all-in-one? Is photo quality important (lasers are not as good as inkjets for photos)? I'm only interested in getting my DOS program to print to black and white paper. The original printer was a LJ3 or LJ4.
With USB, my client should be able to keep his other printer for use with his windows apps. We have tech over at the clients working with us. We are having to run the program in virtual XP mode. We can print from there, but fonts are wrong size and no margins.
Also, can't size the screen, so it is very small. When clicking on maximize, the window moves to top left corner of screen but doesn't get any bigger.
On a 32 bit system everything is where you expect. But on a 64bit system; System32 is reserved for 64bit libs and apps (seriously!) WOW64 is for 32bit equivalents (yes, I know) So if you're on 64bit windows (win7 comes in 32bit or 64bit) you need to put 32bit dlls into the wow64 directory instead of System32. If your win7 is 32bit flavour the dll should go into System32:-/ Hope that helps Jon -- Jonathan Peirce Nottingham Visual Neuroscience This message and any attachment are intended solely for the addressee and may contain confidential information. Hi everyone, First of all thanks a lot to Nate and his post, our Windows 7 64 bit stimulus presentation computer sends now TTL pulses to our EEG recording computer over the parallel port. However, the trigger codes that we are receiving do not look as expected. Maybe I am misunderstanding the whole concept, but this is what I am trying to do: Using PsychoPy Builder v1.79.00 on the above mentioned Windows 7 64 bit computer I would like to send stimulus trigger that denote the appearance of a stimulus and a response in the EEG data.

EEG recording is accomplished using the BrainVision Recorder software on an identical computer. Each stimulus category (e.g., sounds of different pitch) is assigned to a specific number ranging from 1 to 255 defined in the conditionsFile. However, I am receiving only three kinds of triggers in the EEG marker file (i.e., S1, S2 and S3). Here I am insecure: It might be that the BrainVisionRecorder does not interpret the triggers that were sent through the parallel port properly. Hence, it might not be a PsychoPy problem at all, which is why I will also contact the BrainProducts support. Has anyone experienced such an issue?
